Paranormal Activity (or Hauntings) can take many different forms such as: strange noises, things being moved from where they were originally placed, seeing strange shapes or what looks like shadows of people when there is no one in sight, unusual smells, etc. Many people experience these types of phenomena without even realising that they are happening, while others who are more "receptive" notice them more.
